UNIOSUN Alumni Association’s Webinar on Global Career Opportunities Attracts 100 Participants

The first edition of the ‘Beyond the Classroom’ series explores opportunities in international organizations; graduate study sessions in North America and Europe are announced.

The Alumni Association of Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has recorded a strong turnout for the maiden edition of its *Beyond the Classroom* webinar series, which brought together approximately 100 alumni members on Friday, 16 October 2026, to explore career and professional opportunities in international organizations.

The webinar focused on accessing opportunities in prominent international and regional institutions, including the United Nations (UN), African Union (AU), Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS), World Bank, and other international organizations.

The participation exceeded the organizers' expectations, marking an encouraging start for the initiative, which seeks to extend alumni engagement beyond social networking to intellectual development, career advancement, and access to opportunities.

Reacting to the turnout, the association's president expressed appreciation to members for their participation, noting that the response demonstrated a continuing interest in intellectual discussions and a determination among alumni to develop their potential.

According to the president, the initiative reflects the Association’s commitment to building a community that not only reconnects former students but also provides platforms for knowledge-sharing, professional development, and personal growth.

The *Beyond the Classroom* series is designed to create opportunities for alumni to learn about career pathways, broaden their professional horizons, and gain useful insights into opportunities beyond the traditional workplace.

The president reaffirmed the association's commitment to sustaining this direction, stressing the importance of connecting members with relevant knowledge and opportunities that can support their academic and professional aspirations.

As part of plans to continue the series, the Association announced that the next session, scheduled for the following month, would explore opportunities for graduate studies in North America. A subsequent session would focus on graduate study opportunities in Europe.

The planned sessions are expected to broaden members’ understanding of international educational pathways and help them explore further opportunities for academic advancement.
