MEET THE ALUMNUS OF THE MONTH :TEMITAYO OLATUNDE
Temitayo Olatunde is a project manager, policy analyst and community development professional, with relevant experience in formulating and implementing projects that involve community developments in Africa. He has over 6 years of experience in working with Non-Governmental Organisations in areas of Education and Environment. He is an alumnus of Osun State University, having bagged a Bachelor’s Degree in English and
International Studies.
He graduated from the University of Lincoln, United Kingdom with a Master’s Degree in International Relations. Due to his interest in tourism, he has visited several countries in Europe including France, Spain, Italy and Montenegro.
Apart from working in the UK National Health Service, he currently serves as an Ambassador for the ONE Campaign, United Kingdom where he joined global leaders to advocate for end to extreme poverty. He played a significant role by influencing prospective parliamentary candidates during the 2023 UK General Election based on ONE’s mission. He is equally a Global Youth Ambassador for TheirWorld, UK where he advocates the United Nations SDG 4.
Temitayo is a member of the United Nations Association, United Kingdom (UNA-UK). He is a member of British Council Alumni, UK. He is also a member of the United States Government Exchange Alumni Association and an alumnus of Young African Leadership Initiative, RLC, an initiative founded by former president Barrack Obama and funded by the US Government. He served as the National Speaker Bureau Chair for the YALI RLC, Nigeria Alumni for two consecutive years.
He was recently selected to attend an EXPO in South Africa; funded by the US Agency for International Development (USAID). He served as the Operations Officer for Grant Master Company that has won funding grants for businesses and non-profit organisations. He was part of the state project coordinators that managed US Government funded YALI-MWF Clean Up Campaign project.
His passion for advocating equal access to quality education by providing humanitarian aid led him to establish Temvert Empowerment Foundation that provides free school materials, scholarships and materials for girl-children. Through his NGO, he has impacted more than 1000 kids, with over 5000 free school materials provided. Many students have benefited from his scholarship programmes. His works have been recognised and featured by both national and international media platforms such as The Lincolnite UK, Vanguard Newspaper, Guardian Newspaper, Nigerian Tribune and ThisDay.
Temitayo has been certificated by United Nations Public Administration Network, UN CC Learn, UNESCO, African Union, YALI, KECTIL, Commonwealth, US Bureau of Educational Affairs and Cultural Affairs, World Health Organisation, British Council, Santa Clara University among others.
